Jaguar Discounts
Discussion
There are some amazing discounts on new Jaguars this month.
My local dealer has all new cars at dealer cost price + £1 and including five years free servicing.
They also have more than £25k off new XK,s.
I assume this is a directive from Jaguar but I wouldn't be too happy if I'd bought a new car a couple of months ago.
It must surely affect the used car values too, at least in the short term. Strange thing is the dealer has been selling well recently and easily meeting their targets.
I won't be going back any time soon as they have a gorgeous white XK convertible special edition in stock .......

Tbh I wish Jag would just bite the bullet & drop the list prices to what these cars sell at and stop trying to pretend they can command list price sales.
Evidently the volume of nice cars coming online from JLR management has resulted in many peeps buying these & not new, further depressing prices.
IMHO price Jags lower (be interesting to see what happens to D-Type in 2 years) & sell 'em at list prices!

It's a shame that the cost price they refer to doesn't include the back end margin and that the 5 year service plan only covers you for 3 services......My local dealer has all new cars at dealer cost price + £1 and including five years free servicing.

This is definitely not a Jaguar directive and is just one dealer group taking it upon themselves to distress the brand.
Better deal to be had on the Jaguar supported PCP plan with a true 3 year service plan and extra £1,000 deposit contribution at 4.90% APR.
We all have the same margin to play with at the end of the day!

Could you explain that - what is meant by back end margin?I figured that by running this promotion, the dealer is revealing how much margin it has in the cars, which can't be good for its long-term business, or indeed that of other dealers.

Can you point me in the right direction for details of this deal on an XKR Convertible please. This is definitely not a Jaguar directive and is just one dealer group taking it upon themselves to distress the brand.

I've actually seen the unregistered XK with £25k discount in their showrooms just this afternoon. They also had an XK coupe with a huge discount but I didn't take as much notice as I was so taken with the white convertible ...
I appreciate all dealers have the same margins but surely £25k discount can't be leaving them much ?

Front end margin the the amount that Jaguar will pay the dealer for each sale. Back end margin is an additional amount payable to the dealer if they meet their targets on sales and, possibly other targets like customer satisfaction.I figured that by running this promotion, the dealer is revealing how much margin it has in the cars, which can't be good for its long-term business, or indeed that of other dealers.

They offer to show you their invoice from Jaguar and charge you that plus £1. Which as you say, is nuts.I figured that by running this promotion, the dealer is revealing how much margin it has in the cars, which can't be good for its long-term business, or indeed that of other dealers.
Every dealer gets a bonus based on all sorts of parameters, such as sales v targets, customer satisfaction scores, mystery shop scores, demonstrator / showroom standards etc etc.
They won't (or indeed can't as its retrospectively paid) reveal that portion of margin, but they will get some.
Not quite what it says on the tin.....

XK deal is our usual margin + additional £10,000 support if part exchanging something.
No supported finance rates on XK, but we have done a deal with Jaguar finance for March.... (Trying to avoid advertising, if possible) but I do have a lovely Polaris White with Redzone interior XKR convertible in the showroom. Also has the XKR-S Performance seats and exhaust, and speed and black pack.

So you're saying it's possible to get a new XK for £40k?
Not necessarily, as the % margin works out as a higher cash discount on say a £95k XKR convertible as opposed to an entry level £65k XK coupe.
Would also depend on where the dealer is against target and what they have in stock ready to go.

I thought as such, worth a try though Would also depend on where the dealer is against target and what they have in stock ready to go.

Apologies, should have been clear, this is for XF's only.

Understood and a pity. I like the idea of a MGFV, which I had on my previous XK60 Convertible. Your R sounds nice but seems a bit too highly specced for what I'd be interested in.XK deal is our usual margin + additional £10,000 support if part exchanging something.

I'm trying a XKR-s this weekend (fri to Monday) I've had a new Xfr from the dealer and been on the driving day so they have me as a good potential buyer and if it makes my nuts tingle we may end up haggling.
I think the XKR-S should be £70k, the rag top £5k more, at £103k it's seriously expensive for an old design in swan song year.

Yeah, but it is the best thing Jag have ever made. I think the XKR-S should be £70k, the rag top £5k more, at £103k it's seriously expensive for an old design in swan song year.
Around the Nurburgring thevXKR-S was simply awesome, the XFR was just too heavy?
