a 997 GT3...

Nice half day with friends at Porsche Experience on the back of buying the Cayenne. We also paid a bit more and had a play in a GT3 which I liked and my wife liked more than me! getmecoat

The highlight for me was a new Boxster S Manual.

Absolute peach of a drive. It had Ceramics too. I had a fantastic instructor who encouraged me to really push the car on the main handling circuit which is quite tight. Due to the frequency of corners outright power isnt that relevant. I was lapping (admittedly different experienced drivers) 911's and other Boxsters with incredible confidence in damp (and very foggy!) conditions. A really confidence inspiring car.

The GT3 was very much more raw as you would expect, but trickier to get right (especially on cup tyres).

Either car would be a pleasure to own, although the GT3 would tire (IMHO) as a daily driver.

Many drivers like yourself want usable power and cars that inspire confidence, myself included.
The Boxster is on my to-do list.

Anyone know how much this is for a Cayman R? It's the only Porsche I really like and I want a go in one at some point.

Edit just did a quick search and found it. £275 for 90 mins of driving.

There are various types of day, but once the new R is out (or do you mean the current one, which they have now), then IIRC 295 should get you a half day which includes the circuit, low friction, skid pan, and kick plate, followed by some lunch.

The other option is talking your local OPC into it if they think you will buy from them off the back of it..

Was thinking the current one. I just want to have a play in one because I like them to be honest, be tricky convincing a Porsche dealer I want to buy one when I turn up in an Integra hehe

Assuming you really can afford to buy one, the car you currently drive should have no bearing on your getting a test drive.
