Steering column ignition switch buggered!! Help needed:(

I removed the electrical connection from the rear of the ignition barrel because I was removing the steering column. In doing so a spring and contact maker has shot out and it has disappeared. Anyone know where I can get parts or a new column?

I thought this might be a good excuse to install a starter button. Anyone have experience of doing this?

It's a vectra B column. I might still have my old one in the garage if you need bits off it. I'll check tomorrow.
