Reliable car valuation

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend where I can get a good and reliable valuation on my car. I have a 2012 vantage (12) 2,500 miles, standard audio system but pretty much everything else and just been offered £58K by a dealer.

On the Autotrader app that age of car looks to be retailing for £70-80k. I think I would talk to some other dealers to see what they can do for you. They don't have to be local just have what you are looking for. Lloyd at Grange in Exeter would be worth speaking to.

A 1 year old car with 2500 miles, and trading up....it looks like the dealer wants a massive profit out of yours as well as whatever he's makes on the car you're buying...

As usual though, it comes down to cost to change.... If he's giving you rock bottom, then how much is the car he's selling??

I think the dealer is taking the , you need to phone around or tell the dealer he's having a laugh as he is getting your custom on another car, so he needs to do some big re calculation before you go elsewhere.

Sounds a very low offer to me, I would be shocked if the car has lost that much of it's value so quickly. If I was in that situation I'm afraid I would have to drive on a bit longer and stick with what I have.

It is typical of most (not all) dealers, try to stiff you as much as possible both ways. I have been in that situation before and on grounds of principal I just go else where.

You're car is always worth bottom book,their car is always top retail,
Shop around ,when I sold the gallardo I got 17k more than a couple of dealers offered me.

Lloyd is a great bloke.
Bought a car off him yesterday and he even took me to a filling station and filled the tank before I left.

another option is to use a dealer who will sell your car on a commission basis.

that way you sell the car at private/cheap dealer retail level but pay the dealer £1-2k commision. Will stll end up being many thousands
cheaper than trading it in.

Last month Grange had a 2012 Vantage S, 8K miles for £69,995, great colour & spec.

Maybe £58k is not to far off, they'd retail at what, £65ish?
