Are these worth the money guys? I'm fitting my new calipers and discs next week and been thinking of doing the hoses at the same time.

Cheers Karl.

Braided hoses or standard hoses, replace them as you are doing the rest!

It's not worth not changing them!!!!!!!

Thanks Andy

Is it worth paying the extra for braided? Does it really take some of the slack/sponge out of the pedal?

Cheers Karl

Agree with Dixie mostly. But if a hose was due to fail, a braided one shouldn't.

I have always run braided for no better reason than looks, but there are supposed to improve braking efficiency but I don't think I have ever noticed any difference. But would still go for braided...

In theory they are suppose to improve brake pedal feel due to the fact that they can't expend like a rubber hose. I fitted a pair to the front of the 400 when I had the callipers refurbished, I suspect the major improvement was due to having 8 working pistons rather than the hoses but considering that they cost not much more than an standard set I'd always go with braided....

I did hear a story from someone with a Mk2 escort based kit car who had the rear braided hose catch fire due to their engine earth strap failing and the braided hose was the next least path of resistance to the chassis !

I just checked the kit I got from rally design (STV0100-3P) @ £29.38, I know both front hoses fit but not done the back yet but the short hose that left over looks right.

Evidently you are supposed to inform your insurance company if you have braided hoses fitted, dunno why that should make a difference myself but we know that insurers will look for any reason to duck out.

Thanks for that mate

They are at least half the price of anywhere else so got to be worth a punt. Says they are Goodridge as well?

Cheers Karl

Eat a few more kebabs for braking performance. The heavier your right leg is the quicker you can get out for a 'lots of chilli sir kebab is warm not cold sir'
