Replacing handbrake pads on 07 aston vantage

Anyone know how to back off handbrake cable on 07 vantage?

Yes, the cable adjuster is at the caliper on each side, from memory you need two 22mm spanners. However, when you remove the pads you have to wind the pistons back in as these are what take up the slack as the pads wear down. There is a tool for this but you can easily improvise with a length of pipe and two locating pins welded onto it. Don't over tighten the cables when you reassemble, leave 3 - 4 clicks on the hand brake lever, when fully applied.

Thanks. Great help. Just took caliper off to have a look and came to see if I'd got any response. Looks like it will be two nails and a bar.

Before I bought the real tool I had retracted the piston on other cars using a pair of needle-nose or snap-ring pliers.

Pretty sure the right tool is less than £10 at Halfords. I used to improvise with tools for winding back brake pistons but this tool makes it really really easy.....
