1.5 - 2k Diesels any recommendations
Discussion
I have inherited just under 2k and want to spend it on a diesel chugger for work.
I have a Rover 75 diesel at the moment and its a nice car but came from an abusive home before I had it,it was absolutely rotten in and out when I bought it. Had been left with a water leak for about three years as well by the look of it.
It's done 180k now as well so about time I had a look around for a new car.
I do about 16k to 20k a year and a diesel has always proven its worth. I usually buy 500 bangers though so the class of banger has risen for this one.
Is there anything out there with fair economy and reasonable price for parts or easy (ish) to fix yourself.
I usually go for bigger cars but not adverse to a small un if they are decent motors.
Luxury or basic - not bothered so long as its pretty reliable if treated well.
Recent years I have had diesel Xantia,Rover 400 and this 75 - all were good motors.
Had a look at an MG ZR but it had been obviously abused.
Not sure what to go for - so much choice argh!!
