100 is the norm but a 120 wont harm.
I am fitting a 120 to mine to help with the 'extras'

I have a 500 and it's 100AMP. I replaced mine recently. 100AMP is apparently plenty for the Chimaera.

The model you want is the AMR4247 100AMP. It also has the correct pulley for the Serp engine and connection terminals on the rear. I purchased mine from the Ebay link below. The alternators they sell are Genuine Landrover parts and only have delivery mileage. The company armour plates vehicles and upgrades the electronics. My alternator was as new. Great customer service too and very prompt delivery. It is a fraction of the cost of a Genuine Landrover unit.

It is best to double check your exisiting alternator stock number first.

That is a very good price for genuine, I got an OE one off EBay years ago for the same kind of money at the time my local Land Rover dealer wanted over 350 + VAT eek at least Dick Turpin had he's horse outside laugh

...plus it comes with the right pulley - even the one I sourced from one of the specialists didn't have the right pulley on it. frown

Mmm not sure about that as the pre-serp alt as an external fan and I know Lucas style (even though Magnetti Marelli) alternators swap between 15mm and 17mm shafts scratchchin however I cant see why not but I may be corrected on this one :

I strongly suspect it won't fit, I'm pretty sure the shaft size is different and I think the lack of an external fan on the later style alternator will *PROBABLY* put the pulley out of line with the V belt pulleys. Can they be swapped on an old Rangie is probably the best indicator?

Not sure its proven your wrong scratchchin who knows if that was just a pulley swap? wink I have currently got a Ford Bosch 70A alternator that's fits the Serp mounts perfectly (its a common pattern) and is very available(it's my spare)scratchchin the TVR does not need a 100 A unit anyway there's not enough toys fitted to warrant it IMO frown
