This doesn't make sense to me - nearly 7,000 pounds to buy it, plus they charge 40 pounds a month for batteries (whether you drive it or not!). That's the same as buying a Citroen C1 and filling the tank every month with 300 miles worth of petrol - so where is the saving in choosing the electric buggy instead of a small car?

Living in London I can see exactly why these make sense. Ease of parking, no congestion charge etc.

My 10 year old son said..

"Hahaha! what is that?! you'd have to be an idiot to buy that, it's got no windows.. or doors.
Or you don't know anything about cars."

I think it is a French legislation thing. I believe vehicles of that size/power/spec can be driven on roads by under-16s.

I've never seen one on the road in France - only on dealer forecourts (in dry weather) or in showrooms.

I really like these things as a car, and as a concept. But as the OP states, that £40pm battery hire totally defeats the pupose unless your use is very specific. Electricity isn't completely free either!

I sat in one of these at the Renault place on the Champs Elysees in Paris at the weekend and having seen one in real life I can see the sense, run one of these for the commute and have sonmething decent for the weekend. I imagine that it would make even more sense in areas with better weather than the UK.
