Why would you buy it now for £8,500 when you could have this one for the same money?

It's a no brainer surely...

Could be a number of reason's.
A. Colour.
B. There is a price differance it may go for say £6K you don't know.
C. Blaine did a great resto on his car, but some people may want to do it them self's rather than get one already done!
D. Blaine is know to some people so they trust his work. Other people don't know him, so that may put them off buying a restored car as they don't know what they are getting!
So you can see there are a good number of reasons!

Hi Andy - well yes, they are definitely reasons! Good reasons I'm not so convinced, lol Could be a number of reason's.

All I ever read on "I want to buy one" threads is always buy on condition, condition and condition
Absolutely some people are spanner monkeys and will want to resto themselves (I think the present owner may choke on his own muesli to read we might be suggesting his car might benefit from a resto!) but this car is set at 8.5K buy it now and the bidding isn't really bidding cos it has a reserve. I never understand why people do this when it's clear (well it's not clear I'm just guessing and basing on past experience of people who do this sort of thing) the reserve will be about 8...I think we know that car won't go for 6

Hmmm.....just in case it does tho I'm starting the sofa £1 coin search now!
I would go for Blaines car all day long purely because it has an extensive documented restoration file..What is shown is only a small part of the documented work..You would be hard pushed to find another in the same condition..Why do they always come up for sale when you dont have a pot to piss in...

Both the 'dark' grey and the 'dark' blue wedges mentioned, look to be in great condition, but for me, there is only one thing not quite right, and that, is the word 'dark'.
If I ever but a wedge or any other TVR it would have to be a bright colour. This of course is a matter of personal taste, but I believe that all TVR's are beautiful looking cars, and as such should stand out on the road. What better way of achieving this than a nice bright colour. Though I've recently sold my wedge and am currently looking for a Tuscan, (a bright coloured one), if a nice looking wedge came along in the right colour with the right temperament (powerful and bright), then I would buy it. The search goes on.

'dark' and moody for me please - but I wouldn't turn down the yellow one either If I ever but a wedge or any other TVR it would have to be a bright colour. This of course is a matter of personal taste

Both the grey (blaines) and the yellow 400 SEs are a credit to the previous owners who took the time to make them sound buys of this marque...as for the blue 400 advertised again looks a nice example and as previously stated colour really is a individual thing....must admit you do get noticed in the yellow one tony lol

I totally agree, Dark on the outside and light on the inside, that's my preference a Wedge stands out for all the right reasons without the need for bright paint. Though I would always say beauty is in the eye of a Wedge beholder, if you have a Wedge of any colour, its all good and if we weren't all different it would be boring.
Hi
I have to agree wih Alum here!
