I've just bought a Bosch S4 for my weekend car. ECP have an eBay selling account which was cheaper than the regular website. £40 rather than £63 for a 063 battery.

CSL has a 55Ah battery from a Mini. I keep mine on a trickle-charger a lot of the time, and have reconditioned it every now and then, so get away with it

Standard E46 M3 is 70Ah I think

My suggestion is to go to your local BMW dealer and buy a new battery. Good quality at a reasonable price. Provided you don't neglect your car it should do 8 years or more without difficulty.

Don't be fooled by cheaper rubbish with a "3-year warranty".

Don't bother with that, just go straight to battery100. Or if you're feeling lucky, battery200.
