Cause if it only costs 60 quid to `fix` the airbag why hasn`t the owner done it as it will cost him a damn sight more in the final price.
Do hate these it only costs `x` or it`s only a ten minute job adverts, well get it fixed before selling it then!
And very soon, airbag lights will be an MOT failure.Do hate these it only costs `x` or it`s only a ten minute job adverts, well get it fixed before selling it then!

Has it had the rear subframe mounts checked for cracks? If they haven't gone yet they soon will. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160983537842?ssPageName=...

BMW UK will usually pay for the repair of them if the car is standard and under 10 years old, otherwise it's up to the owner to repair (or sell on).
It costs ITRO £4k to fix.
It would be a brave man that buys a ~10 year old e46 that hasn't had the repair done yet.

It's an auction, So it probably won't end up going for 3k
I think it'll go for something near to that - it started at £3k and several days later it's still only got 2 more bids. And we've only got a few hours to go.Normally the coupes sell for £5+k so I was surprised this one had stayed so cheap, especially as it has the later 204 HP engine.

The auto box for a start..
Not strong at all on E46
Ah ok fair enough - I've seen some crazy power claims from modified 330d's (i.e. 240+ HP) but I'd never considered about the limits of the tranmissionsNot strong at all on E46

I have to agree with you but I'm used to the Rover 75 / MG ZT (which uses similar electrics to the E46) and airbag faults aren't normally so bad to fix unless it's been in a major accident.Do hate these it only costs `x` or it`s only a ten minute job adverts, well get it fixed before selling it then!

. . . . . and highlighting the auction to a huge audience of petrolheads probably won't help keep the price down.
