Folks, I am pondering a 2+2 some point in the next 12 months. Would be in addition to Tango1 and would be more of a daily if things go to plan.

Always wanted a TVR and need 4 (well 3) seats to accommodate OberGruppenfuhrer and Captain Smalltrousers.

Am I right in thinking I'm restricted to 2.8i, or did they stretch it to V8? No trouble either way as the Cologne is easily tuneable.

Any suggestions? Any known cars around for realistic money?

Also - did they come in lurid colours? I have a Tango Orange Scim to live up to!!

TIA.

Hi Posh twit..There was a V8 version of the 2+2 but they are few and far between..There is a nice silver 280i FHC 2+2 on the PH classifieds at the moment..I dont know who it belongs to..Honest..rolleyes..But might be worth getting in touch with the owner for a little negotiation..No lurid colours on a TVR wedge im affraid although i was thinking of ST orange with black spoke lattice wheels for mine... wink...Ziga

PS: Cologne V6 = Easially tuneable..Tell me more...Im attempting to fit a sprintex s102 kit to mine soon..Nearly there..

Can't find it... Although I am browsing via Crackberry. Will check on a real computer on the morrow.

Cologne tuning - come on, just ask the Crapi boys!

I have read loads of ford capri forums and tunning sites and they all talk about 3 port heads..cams and rebores..A dyno was done on a three port head and compared with the siameesed twin port and there was no difference..The cologne doesnt like cam changes and can run really bad..I was quoted for a 3.6 conversion 3K and was assured of a 10-15bhp increase...laugh..I have gone the only non lag route which is the supercharged one..On a standard engine set up running low boost the BHP will increase almost 100bhp and the torque will almost double..(Sprintex's claims not mine)..I have gone on to the ford forum a few times to ask questions and even relay some useful information..I would get more response from a deaf caveman.. hehe..Apparently there is an adjustment of the valves and an addition of a BMW airflow meter that will give more power..

You are right about the silver machine..I will email the owner to see what is happening...Cheers..Ziga

Thanks for checking - may be a little early to buy just now, but hey, always open to deal!

Re: tuning - can't recall precise details, but I'm sure several people have been talking 180/90 bhp without resorting to massive rebores and megabucks TBs, etc. Nothing like your forced induction gains of course, and I know not what torque figures could be expected. And, like the Essex in Tango1, a RV8 transplant may be cheaper if space, etc allows...

Thanks, by the way. All useful info.
