Cut a small piece off under the seat and send it to Furniture clinic .They use spectroscopic methods to colour match your leather ..

Hope this helps ,I want to tidy my interior up but not had the time with twins on the way .Thanks daz

I've just completed a refurb of my seats and centre console using the Furniture Clinic kit, their TVR Magnolia colour was a perfect match.

I got impressive results too.

I hear that Furniture Clinic also do a plastic paint that they colour match. You may wish to use this on your centre console and dash as it may adhere better (and therefore wear better).

That looks fantastic. How did you deal with sagging and creases (on the seat) wink

I sent Furniture Clinic an off-cut of vinyl from my replacement carpet edging (TVR Magnolia) for them to colour match - probably didn't need to but wanted to be sure of a good match.

No need for a special plastic paint on the vinyl surfaces. I used the Furniture Clinic leather colourant with their 'Adhesion Promotor' and 'Cross Linker-X' products with great results.

Before

After

The black is Furniture Clinic standard black (BLK1)

The final laquer coat is satin (over 2 coats of gloss)

The sagging wasn't so bad on my car but I dealt with it by sliding a piece of ply between the foam and the thin steel wires underneath the base, the sagging is caused by the wires cutting into the foam so the ply should prevent this.

The cracks and creases are in the colour, mine had a lot of cracks on the side but furniture clinic assured me that once I clean the coating off and get down to the leather then there will be no cracks, he was absolutely correct.

The job took me 2 days using their restoration kit, it could be done much quicker but I took the seats out and then apart.

The kit was £85, a big tip for anyone doing this, hire their compressor, for a net cost of £25 it's a no brainer.

I have never done anything like this before, so it is easy to do and gives flattering results.

I used the furniture clinic TVR Magnolia colour, when they have done colour matching for previous customers they keep the details on file, the colour is a perfect match.

My car is also only half hide (leather seat facings only) the kit is suitable for vinyl coverings and adhered well to mine.

Happy to talk you through my experience if it helps, pm me for my number

Swanny, how did you find getting down behind the window screen? Also, where did you get the carpets from? Looks a great job!

I have just ordered some Biscuit (ADE) for my seats & Evergreen (HGX) for the dash and console and some Moss (GRN06) for the carpets from them (as best guesses!), and seeing this post I just called them to ask... but they do not keep records of individual colour matches, which seems a shame : they would make significantly more sales if they kept an informal colour matched book with what vehicle it came out of IMHO - I don't want to be going for colour matching because a) it means hacking off bit's of the car b) I don't want that colour! I want the colour it was 15 years ago...

I'm gonna see how it goes, if it's a train wreck then... well... erm.. I'll have a little cry.

Dash/windscreen area was a pain - to do the job perfectly you'd have to remove the screen but no way was I doing that. Since it was going to black (which covers very easily and evenly) and after some tests I decided not to spray the colourant on like I'd done with other parts. Obviously I removed the dash top first.

At the base of the windscreen I used cotton buds, and a soft sponge for the rest of the windscreen surround - lots of very thin coats. Any mess on the sreen scraped off easily once dried, any small areas missed where the screen meets the dash are hidden by the black edge in the glass.

The top coats I sprayed on as normal once the screen was masked.

I got the carpets from Central TVR at a bargain price from their ebay shop - think I got lucky as I've not seen them at that price since.
