Hi

I have a Santa fe 2004 2.7 V6 as the wifes second car, I drove it yesterday the first time in about 6 months. I was on the A55 doing 70mph and I slightly pressed the brakes. The was a loud rumbling noise, and vibration getting worse the longer I pressed the brake.

I slowed to 60mph and tried again after about 5 mins. No rumbling or vibration. I drove at this speed for 15 mins and all was ok. So increased speed back to 70, everything was ok for 10-15 mins then it started again.

Anyone had this before

I have come across this several times before, usually caused by excessive corrosion of the disc cooling vanes.

This affects the integrity of the brake disc, causing the rumble.

I had this recently. It was a combination of old discs and a sticky piston in the brake caliper
