I have the Tuscan style seats in my Cerb and I don't like them, I feel like I'm perched on top of them and they don't give any leg support either. I'm thinking of a couple of options, first get a local trimmer to see if the padding in the seat back can be reduced so I sit "in" the seat and not on it.
Secondly, if maybe Tamora/T350 seats would be better, although I obviously have to get some and then get them re-trimmed which will cost, or maybe aftermarket seats but I would want these re-trimmed as well as I'm not after race car style seats, just something that does a better job.
I've tried searching but only found an old thread by motorsportrescue using T350 seats. I thought I saw a thread recently where someone had a respray and fitted 350 seats but I can't find it, I'm sure someone has done this already?

Edited to add: Does anyone know of a good trimmer around Surrey/Sussex area?

Honda S2000 seats can be made fit but they are a very very tight fit.

There is a thread somewhere on those as well.

I was going to do it but didn't in the end (even got as far as getting a second-hand set of seats which I ended up using in something else).

Thanks, I knew I'd seen something, as it doesn't mention the seats it didn't turn up in the search results.

Have you sat in the earlier Cerbera seats?

I do like the look of the tuscan style seats, however - I have heard that they are terrible support and prone to breaking. Later this year I will go with a new type of seat. The T350 styles look good, do they reduce visibility from the standard?

What other options are there apart from the honda S2000's

Yep, they look good but I don't think they offer much support. The edges always look crap as they collapse from constant getting in/out.
I haven't got round to reading this thread yet but Elise seats in a Chimp:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
I rang Bell end garage or whatever they are called this morning but they have no Tam/350 seats and told me they are very sought after. If I can bring myself to it I might ring TVRGlen but even if they have/get any I'm expecting them to want £5,000 for a pair that have sat out in the rain for 6 months.

Not that I recall, so no I guess. But they look dated IMHO.

The earlier seats do offer more support... but do agree they look dated now.

I had a quick look at the Elise seats and they are fixed as well. Although I would never get anyone in the back of the Cerb I would imagine its a right pain trying to get luggage in with a fixed seat so these are a non-starter.

Have you tried removing the bum cushion. I was told it was made to be removable for when being used on track. I've tried it a few times and the seat is much more. Hugging. Personally I think they are fine.

Yeah, but I'm short in body and long in leg so its not going to help me. I'll give it another go but to be honest I could do with raising the seat, not lowering.
The problem is mainly the back of the seat, it curves outwards, toward the driver and you just seem to rest on the middle of it, it needs softening or reducing.

There's a balance somewhere between form and function that only you can decide upon. Earlier Cerb seats do fit, do fold, and are more comfortable. They do look a bit dated although theybut they don't look out of place in the car. Depends on how much hassle you want for what end result really.

I think they are great seats, dated well the whole car is dated now next to any of the T cars IMHO so not out of place.

What about getting a set trimmed in nice quilted effect or something it will make it look a little more modern.

Best Seats for distance were my Chim seats dated looking too not out of place but great.

Yeah I appreciate I'm being a bit of a pillock with that comment, I just don't like the look of them. However, I should give them a try (and get the missus to try as she complains more than me about the seats and it causes aggro when I want to take the Cerb for a long journey and she wants to go in the weisel estate car)
I'm gonna try a trimmer first, see if anything can be done on the tuscan seats, just need to find a decent trimmer near me.

I had these Cobra ones knocked up, i had to fit them slightly twisted and tilting in.
You cant really notice, if you want seats on the piiss look at T350's standard, guess thats the only way they could do it?

Hi Brummie,

who is "they"?

did you buy runners, or just bolted to floor in fixed position?

can you select different colours etc? and the TVR logo etc?

I specced the colour and the logos, I also had some seat brackets laser cut that were much deeper so bolted to the original holes, if you are taller forget runners it is impossible, mine are fixed and height is about right for me at 5'10"
Eta they are cobra.
