Does anyone know where I can get Ral and BS standard colour charts (printed, not on web)at the right price ie. free or for postage cost. I find it strange that it's simple to get lots of colour charts with fancy names from all over and for some manufacturers and suppliers those names seem to change weekly!, but the industry standards seem to be hard to come by? maybe it's just me, but it would seem sensible that the industry standard colour charts should be the most widely and easily available.

I'd imagine it's the same as Pantone guides.

Pricey and only worthy of the bin after a year.

Why the above? Surely they don't date as they are the BS or RAL standard?
Please can you explain?

Pantone colours don't date either. They do fade though.

Can you imagine the cost of production of a chart or swatch book of hundreds or thousands of colours?

But surely it's no more costly to produce swatches for BS or RAL than it is to produce all the swatches for other non-standard? colours with fancy names? In fact, as it stays standard from year to year (ie not regularly subject to name changes, let alone colour) it should be cheaper to produce RAl and BS charts.......
