How much do the ST STL Manifolds cost. Be quoted a price if £900. Maybe get that down with a few sets but wanted to compare the cost.

If I get any done (no rush) then I will get an EGT bung put in as I'm told its better to monitor this than using a WB.

Nice one. Can u enquire about having a bung for EGT sensor thermocouple?

I suppose I could get this fitted later?

Just get a light that says "Hot" every time you press the throttle

I'm told EGT is the best way to let the ECU know a bank is going lean and can go into safe mode. This is quicker and safer than using AFR. You can even go mental and have EGT on each cylinder but that's for race cars.

Fi cars use it on the dyno, they use wideband on the track

Ok, but an F1 car is engineered to a very high precision so once sorted it can be left as it has all other types of sensors.

So ill go back to what I was told. EGT is better to monitor than AFR on our cars for safety. My ECU has a safe page and I can have EGT and WB among other things. I already have one WB so I'm going to get one fitted to the other bank and if I get new manifolds then I can squeeze in a couple of EGT sensors as they need to go as close to th exhaust valves as possible.

I'm not saying EGT is best, just that's what I was told.

Haltech platinum 2000. Only thing it doesn't have is knock. Which is a shame.

But I've had it for years and only found the safe page last year after the engine rebuild.

Puts engine in safe mode if temp goes too high. After all its only a thermocouple.

So it's just an alarm, Will it give a temp read out? how will you know what to set it at, 800 and something degrees?

Yeah but it shuts down engine when triggered. U get the choice on how to shut it down. Boost/fuel/ignition.

Will also have fuel/oil pressure and temp set up at some point but EGT just needs the thermocouples and a small plug in box.
