I have an enormous crack
Discussion
...in my windscreen, obviously.
I was driving back from Peterborough, down the A1, and a small stone got flicked up, chipping the screen right in front of my face. This was mildly annoying but nowhere near as terrifying as the next 15 miles where the chip turned into a small crack, which then turned into a slightly longer crack and then an even longer crack. By the time I got home, the crack was about 90% of the width of the entire screen.
It was everso slightly terrifying driving along and watching the crack develop and in hindsight I can't help wondering if it would've been smarter to pull over, call the AA and wait, but I got home without implosion and now waiting for a new screen to arrive.
Fun.

Stop wondering and stop listening to those f
king RAC Auto Windscreen adverts
Windscreens are tougher than you think. There are two layers of glass laminated together and the crack will be in the outer layer. I once drove back from Exter to Bristol on the M5 at 40MPH because I thought the screen would shatter. Autoglass demonstrated to me how tough they were by hitting it. I was impressed!
