There will be a mock up body of the new coupe at Sebring 12 hours, and the current open car is racing there with a Mazda 2.0 turbo engine instead of the Nissan engine.

First reaction was 'oh dear', to put it politely.

In my head, I was expecting something like the Red Bull X2012 car from Gran Turismo 5, without the front wheel pods...

Less Batman, more Noddy now.

(Possibly unfair, but the extra height and rake on the windscreen make it look pretty ungainly).

The windscreen is too vertical, is that really aerodynamic?

Windscreen looks to be on a par with the Audi/Toyota but the whole concept is so centred on efficiency (the wing mirrors lost them 8% at Le Mans!) that I just can't see it being as good as the open cockpit version. Not that it actually applies to any regs etc, so moot point all round.

With thanks to Marino Franchitti for the idea;

The chrome isn't helping as its nigh on impossible to make out the definitive shape but that canopy really doesn't work, it just looks like they have taken it off another LMP. I know there will be issues with vision angles, curvature of the screen etc, but it could have done with a lot more rake on it

Yikes, looks like the bd offspring of a beery encounter between a duckbill platypus and a Daytona prototype. Still an interesting concept mind you, just not a pretty one!

Already the Deltawing is starting to just become a farce now Don Panoz has taken over. Strangely I'm not surprised by this.

Took one glance and thought vodafone mclaren, seems a bit of a rip of their colour scheme.

The nearly vertical angle of the screen looks a bit risky in case of impact.

I guess it has to be that shape to allow drivers to get in and out via a door?.

Gives an impression how F1 would be with closed cockpits.
Not really a fan of this. Although i think overall the DeltaWing is great.

Agree. Where the Don goes failure is sure to follow.............ALMS was a great idea which only the Braselburger gnomes could have screwed up. RiP the spirit of IMSA.

If you are out there Murphy the Bear.........You were right!

I would look much better without the helicopter style bubble windscreen, the side profile doesn't look too bad though. Also if it was still in the original black colour scheme the windscreen would be far less prominent.
