The fact that the original offence was simply a '3 points' speeding ticket is completely irrelevant though isnt it? As soon as they agreed to lie on the NIP form that arrived through the post, it instantly became Perverting the Course of Justice, which I have no doubt they would have known.

If all those other thousands of people were caught, they too would be charged with PTCOJ and more than likely go to prison for a similar length of time, as you can determine from this article:

Yet as an MP he should be beyond reproach. That means not lying and not wasting public money.

Anyway, I'd be pretty pissed off and not as calm if someone shoved a camera right in to my face. The photographer should have expected a Prescott punch!
