Question re Fiesta Spare Wheel

I realise this is a long shot as I'm asking about a car that probably has yet to be delivered to a customer but there is a chance that some of the technical folks here will know or can find out so here goes.

I've ordered a Fiesta ST and was planning to retain my current 14" Fiesta spare wheel for the new car, swapping it with the supplied tyre inflation kit. I do realise that I may need to change the spare tyre size.

I have since discovered that the spare supplied with the ST is a 15" wheel. What I need to know is will the 14" wheel that I have fit or will the larger discs or anything else prevent this?

Without knowing what size brakes will be coming on the ST I'm not sure how you can tell - I'd imagine a 14" will be too small though.

I guess I'm hoping that someone who works for Ford who has access to technical data can help.

Couldn't find it before, but Carfolio reckons 259mm fronts, so you could well be alright with a 14, at a squeeze, depending how big the caliper is of course! Chances are you won't be able to tell until you have the car, brake clearance can often be down to the profile of the rim you're trying to fit as well.

Can you change the order to include a spare wheel? Last time I ordered a new Ford (mid 2007 certainly), a space saver spare, jack & brace were a no-cost option instead of the sealant & compressor.

If you get a front puncture, put the spare on the back, and the removed back wheel on the front.

Pump the 14" tyre up to a zillion psi to get the car level.

Not sure, build date is Friday. The option was £50 in 2011 and is £95 now. Will look into updating the order to be on the safe side.

I know some folk who bought Focuses (Focii?) of the same era as mine went to scrappies looking for similar cars with front end damage. That might be a cheaper way of obtaining the spare & other bits.

Don't do this. Keep it at recommended pressure and drive a bit more carefully as the balance will be slightly off.

E-cat does list a different size disc to a standard Fiesta for the ST (or any variant with rear discs) however doesnt give me any information on size. Only thing I can suggest is trying to fit the wheel over the disc but by this point you will have missed the cutoff for ordering the spare wheel with the car. You could always swap front to rear in an emergency but its not ideal.

Id order the spare with the car and save myself the hassle personally.

The wheel didn't fit. I ended up buying on old rusty 15" wheel from a local shop and having it powder coated. Looks brand new, cost me about £50 all in.
