I believe that the tailgate switch on my FL2 has failed - a common problem from what I can gather.
The problem is that I can't open the tailgate from the outside, handle or keyfob to get in and replace the switch.

Anyone know a way of opening the tailgate from the inside?

Thanks

I don't know but keep on looking...

I know how to do it on the Freelander 1, so I'd be surprised if there isn't a way on the Freelander 2.

This happened on our Discovery 3 and involved pulling away the trim on the lower half of the split tailgate, followed by lots of hacking at the sheath around the cable that runs to the latch. Once the cable was accessible, I was able to pull on it with long-nosed pliers and open the tailgate. The L-shaped end of the cable that goes into the solenoid had broken and I jerry-rigged a repair until a replacement cable and latch (they are integral) arrived.

Would expect there to be many entries on LR forums regarding your problem if its as common on the Freelander as it is on the D3.

My tailgate went as well. Turned out to be the fuel filler cap solenoid which kept blowing the fuse, which shares the dame one as the boot release. Check this first.....
