Hi all, been following the ups and downs of you all over the last year, wondering if I would ever have anything to contribute myself.

So whilst I'm hanging around at home waiting for the currys dishwasher guy, thought i'd share my first 10 months of ownership.

Got a Cerbera, yeeehaaa, sorry can't say Cerbera, yeeehaaa, without finishing with the yeehaaa bit, juvenile and imature I know, but I've got one!, its a speed six, ooooohhhh, yeah that slips out sometimes too, its Halcyon blue and Magnolia inside 29k on the clock, loads of receipts, runs great, starts well hot or cold, blended in headlamp conversion, dip, full beam, side light and indicator, 4 holes which isn't too common I dont think, but I like it!

Had a 350i in my youth and always wanted to get another TVR so when then chassis gave up on my old Elan+2, it was time to con the missus and go for it.

Got it off ebay, I know what your thinking, but I like a bargain, came with 12 months mot bit of tax, slight scuff on the paintwork front offside, but I live by the phrase, operational not decorational, so i can live with dodgy paint.
Drove home from Sheffield, Gary the guy who sold it, top bloke, looked visibly upset, as we drove away, I'm sure I saw him taking photos as we dissapeared round the corner. It took a while getting use to the driving through a letterbox type windscreen, but got it home to Lincoln, and since last May, I've spent nothing except oils and fluids, oh and a cigarette light cos it was missing.

Ive had plenty of "issues" though, the alarm use to go off for fun, then tracked down Carl Baker and he told me what to do, so I unplugged it as he said and its been fine ever since. Windscreen wiper motor parking switch, had to buy one of those and have unsucessfully been trying to get a wiper that actually wipes, does everyones leave a diner plate size of window on both sides untouched, remarkable, how that happens. Never had a windscreen washer system till i traced the pipe to that sealed cavity in front of the offside wheel arch, whose idea was that, discovered the filler pipe wasn't connected to the tank.

Oh yeah, to fix the washer fill pipe had to take wheel off ..................... chassis outriggers missing, gone AWOL, and had left some rust in their place. Very difficult jacking it up with no jacking point.

Soooo I got a deal, but plenty of issues, makes for an interesting time, its great.
I'm booked in, on the waiting list with Nick at Willow in Newark for the chassis sort out, doing fuel and brake lines as well. Going over in a couple weeks for him to get aquainted, see if anything else urgently needs sorting.
Abacus alarms have some Meta kits that will sort me out hopefully, has anyone done the boot opening mod that allows you to open the boot from the fob, or is that for chims and griffs.

Good to finally chat, and if anyone has a guaranteed wiper blade/ washer combination that looks good and really works, I'd love to hear about it.
Cheers, safe and happy motoring,
Karl

Forgot too mention, aren't they twitchy in the snow, use mine every other week, car pool thing, caught myself going on about this big BMW that was behind me, one icy snowy morning recently, about how he was heading for a ditch or something, just before we managed to do a full 180 degree park up on the other side of the road, gently kissing the kerb at about 3mph now facing the BMW driver who looked a bit shocked, we just laughed,
whatever next?

Welcome music
You did well not posting on here for so long it's a mad house but most don't bite !
I had similar wiper issues and found that the springs on the arms were shot even though they felt quite strong so a pair of Leven arms and blades later and instant wipe ! So strong the screen has to be wet or they struggle to wipe at all.

Welcome. I also installed the Leven wiper arms and washer system, much better than the standard ones but I think I must be missing a non-return valve as it takes ages for the fluid to start squirting through which can cause the blade to stick as mentioned above.

Welcome!!

I have the boot opener option - Carl Baker fitted a new alarm and he gave me that option - very handy to open the boot without having to reach down.

I'd suggest giving him a bell.

Cheers

Rob
