I'm about to put my Alfa Romeo 159 (1.9D) up for sale.

Looking at what I need to do to get maximum return, it got me thinking do I remove towbar or not?

So am I best to remove it? As I know some people wouldn't buy a car like this that's towed.

Or use it as a bargaining tool/extra, but offer to remove for free if buyer doesn't need one.

So what would be best on a car like this?

Cheers

If looking for a car my own personal preference would be for no tow bar as i would be worried about wear to the rear suspension componets and potentially the tough life its had towing a weight up and down the country.

Is it the kind that if removed leaves a hole in the bumper?

Personally I'd remove it.
It won't get you a higher price and is more likely to put people off.

Remove it,

especially on a 159 - it must ruin the look completely

I have just bought a Saab 9-5 estate & the ad mentioned nothing about a towbar & yet it had a factory fitted one in the photos....l saw it as a result!

l also sold a while ago a 530d tourer auto, again with a factory fitted bar although this time specifically mentioned....the car sold because it had the bar fiitted. It is a difficult question to answer OP confused

(oh, & l'm not a "shed dragger" before anyone asks wink )

Ok, thanks, I will remove it.

And yes I did have to cut part of the very bottom of the bumper, but would only be visible if looking up from under.

Oh and I installed it to tow my kit car.

Out of interest, where are you based? Was keeping an eye out for a 159 with a towbar....
