Guess he knew he had to scrub off speed before the left kink ahead.
. He probably went a bit light over the hump there which unsettled the car.

I have done a fair few laps round there. That is one of the fastest corners on the track!! In a decent sports car that easily 130mph+ before that corner, probably nearer 150mph. So he got away with it (just)!
He scared living daylights out of the camera car.

I've hit that rise before Schwedenkreuz many times at around 130mph in my lowly 228bhp E36, it's fine, in a gen 2 911 I'd estimate 150mph + is easily achievable, to the point where unless you're absolutely straight at that speed, you're asking for trouble - going light and accidentally putting lock on is massively dangerous as is demonstrated here.

Seems like a case of too fast too soon to me. Shame about the car, hope the occupants were ok!

Hope they had a cappuccino interior before they started the lap.

That's just a total fk up!

Not even at the major corner, trying to take another car before they have the next corner sorted.

Had a 3 x 360 spin at that corner, maxing an Elise 130mph on dial. Cocky on 1st trip, didn't know track, didn't brake/slow prior to corner.

Just stopped prior to Armco. Big wake up call. Loved the ring, but got away with it.

You need to be straight at the point of the track. The driver tried the overtake, wasn't straight and paid the consequences! Unlucky, but quite a common mistake at Schwedenkreuz.

The hump before the corner is higher and sharper on the left side of the track than it is on the normal line on the right. I always try to avoid overtaking there.

Its a scary corner because it just doesn't look anything like as dangerous as it is because of the high speeds there. Very lucky driver, that.

This^^ I've done it too.

Compounding the problem is a lot of people pussy-foot around flugplatz so you can really get the legs on them coming down the straight, next thing you know you've got to pass on the steeper funny cambered bit. Bloke I passed had a camera set up like the one in the OP & showed me my car sliding gently past him on what looked like two wheels. Probably 130mph or so.

Never again.
