One improvement the jago needs and a floor in my eyes is the wheels that are avaible to it, now i did contact Mr Weller him self awhile back, but to get something done in a size we would all want we'd have to order 50 sets, or 50 wheels.. cant remember which one ! .. probably sets knowing our luck !

So what todo ... Im thinking Billet Custom wheels.. but its 600 quid a wheel !

Can't find anywhere that does a nice 16" weller ... there is a bloke down here who has a jago and has 16"/8" i think its that .. unless its 15".. might be 15 actually hehe !

Anyway to the point, what did you guys do about getting biggers wheels or did you keep the 13/s on it ...

Another thing i been looking into is off road tyres (legal ones).. i see these big foot replicas that have 15 and 16" wheels and GIANT tyres on it ... im thinking oh this would look sweet on the jago !

Whats your views on this, and where to get the tyres, i would be perfect if you could get that tyre on a 13/14" wheel, but i think they start doing them at 15" ..

So instead of going custom wheels being made up, how about custom tyers ??? is that a possability ?

Sorry if im confusing on this matter .. abit tired

Aaah- my favourite subject.

Check out www.mjloffroad.co.uk/prodwhee.html
for details of the Mach5 offroad wheel which is available for £85 in 15" and 16". (Menus only seem to work using M$ Internet Explorer)

As ever, big tyres look great (I'm running 235/75 x 15" Colway C-Trax MT on Weller wheels, they're 30" tall) but the gearing is horrendous. I still have the 3.89 diff (a 4.44 cwp is in a box at my feet) with a 1700xflow & Sierra 5sp box and 4th & 5th aren't really needed. Top speed on the level is about 62mph. When I had my 1500GT with 4.125 Anglia diff and 6.40 x13" tyres, I could reach 85mph on a long enough runway.

Check out www.cars.u-net.com/colway4x4.htm for prices on those tyres.

The chunkiest 14" tyres I ever found were Cooper Discoverer STT from www.sintontyres.co.uk/
in Milton Keynes at about £58 each.

The wildest European tyres I ever found are at www.rsadvnet.it/pneus_service/SPECIAL_TRAC.html
but not easy to get in UK and costing about £100 each.

For the wildest tyres ever, check out the jeeps on eBay with mud and rock crawler tyres- up to 40" tall with tread on the sidewalls !!!

For 15" rims, look at Peugeot's 307 and 406. They won't be wide but they'll fit. Even though they're made for fwd, being narrowish the negative offset is not outlandish and shouldn't punish your bearings. A slim spacer may be needed on the front for the tyre to clear the struts. I've only ever tried them on the rear.

Hope this helps.

Hi Matthew

I have a set of used weller wheels, specifically for the Geep, spare! They are 14" diameter by 6" wide, need a little cleaning and painting, but are very cheap. They don't have any tyres with them so I would like £30 for the set of four. How does that sound to you?

If they are of interest email me - I will only be able to contact you via the forum as my computer wont send mail out at the moment!

location wise, I am based in Chesterfield, Derbys.
