I want to try my hand at rallying but don't want to run to the expense of time/money getting up nd running for one event only to find its not for me, so wondered if anyone had hired a car for an event before? I know I will need a package of some form that gets a competitors licence etc..

your best bet is to ask the same question on the the british rally forum. (britishrally.co.uk)

for a small event hiring everything will cost £1000-£1500 for a car like a Pug 106 gti. If you type in rally car hire into google there are plenty of teams offering this service.

I'm pretty sure Rallyschool.co.uk have a package which includes BARS test, MSA licence, car and equipment hire/support and entry fee to a rally.

One of the guys I work with has been looking into it, it's probably the best route if you want to compete as a 1 off to see if you like it.

Be warned. It's addictive!
