Chassis protection.

What steps have any of you taken to protect your chassis from the inside? Seeming as there are many many holes in it from all the self tappers and rivits.

I was thinking of getting this and the injection gun then intecting it in through one of the holes every foot or so along the car.

Says it also reacts against any rust that is already there also.

i filled mine up with waxoil shortly after i bought it - it was dripping out for ages ! made a mess of the garage floor

every now and then if i spot any problems i get the dremel out and sand off any problems and paint using hammerite with waxoil

mine spends a lot of time in a heated garage so is still in very good nick - but i have seen some horrors

I believe some of the early cars were left out in the rain at the factory and had rust from the start

I did a bit of reading and on some pistonheads threads some said waxoyl didn't do very well on some tests on how long it would last and reccomended the one I linked.

I had some surface rust under some of the heat shielding that's wrapped round the chassis that I treated and painted but you obviously can't see if its rusting from the inside until it makes its way to the outside!

i think waxoil is a prevention not a rust treatment

i waxoiled another of my cars 17 years ago and it has never failed an MOT for rust

I was thinking about this. I intend to keep my car and I was thinking about getting someone to strip it down and treat the chasis and give it a real good clean so it looks like new.

Anyone got any recommendations who could do this?

Anyone, its not really a specialist job!

This is an excellent rust converter,I use it on the outside of the chassis.I am thinking of spraying the inside's by pulling a small bore tube along while spraying ,then sealing end up after.

Just watching wheeler dealers with a tvr cerbera chassis really rusty....changing it for a new one.
Reckon the noble chassis look a lot easier to maintain

the active ingredient in Rust treatment is Phosphoric Acid

anything you can pour in the chassis with this added will do the job

Waxoyl has Phosphoric Acid in it as well as other stuff
