has anyone heard this in the flesh/metal? or would I be smarter to go with the europipe full exhaust from JZM (bear in mind im not bothered about the track day db limit)?

rroro on here has it done - ive been in his and it does sound immense. Theres a thread in the GT section of 911uk discussing it but its a worthwhile mod id say.

Though any exhaust fabricator can knock you one up though - Hayward and Scott have the same for sale for £390 inc vat, not sure if thats fitted or not though

Did this to mine before I bought my Akra Evo, system, yes I love my akra but the cost of the thing cannot be ignored, the bypass is definatley the best bang for buck you can get , manufacturer irrelevant (sw/gmg/fvd)

yes i've heard the akrapovich is incredible....but unfortuately i don't nearly have the cash to justify a 10k exhaust! think im going to go for the x-pipe in a few weeks smile

also can you feel the weight loss of the bypass?

I have the sharkwerks on my 3.8 as well and wonderful sounds ensue. Would highly recommend any system that allows the full sound to be produced. Especially on track.

You in the uk? What tracks do they allow you n with this system? It's the only problem with it!

Cheers matey smile

H&S fabricated my bypass for me and created a template off it as it was their first 997 GT3 bypass - they can therefore offer the same to other 997.1 GT3 owners. Not sure of the price though, probably around 600 + fitting + VAT but best call them and ask if interested. I love my bypass, it adds so much to the character of the car. I've raved about it loads, on the 911uk thread mentioned by kingston. One nice surprise is that I've since done 2 trackdays without any issues... probably more down to luck than anything else though!

As stated above £390 inc. Vat + fitting

My car will not pass noise test at Goodwood with standard exhaust hence now fitted with Carnwall remote control.

See exhaust options/remote control.
Might be useful with these bypass mods.

I have the remote, with the bypass but always set it to loud. I thought you were not supposed to drive hard with the flaps closed the whole time - too restrictive. Is that wrong?

Lucky enough to live in NZ where there are no restrictions on track and never seen a test for loudness on the road. Use the bypass from shark weeks and unplug the electrics to the valve and you have the best sounds all the time. Not sure if it does any harm to the car but sounds wonderful, the way it should be allowed to sound.

The H&S pipe in the link looks a bit wonky? Great price indeed but maybe thats the prototype...? Its the mounting brackets, they look un equal in distance from the centre and therefore the tail pipes dont line up with the exit holes.
