So VW have launched their new Golf Estate, and personally I think it's a handsome looking thing, nicer than the standard hatch anyway. If they came out with an R version of this, could certainly be a rival to the Focus ST Estate providing it's fun to drive...

Here's the back:

It may just be a Golf, and be a bit white goods, but the R32s weren't exactly unexciting. If they pop a nice V6 under the bonnet (more likely the 4 pot from the Mk6 R), then that coupled with a "all the car you'll ever need" as critics keep saying, it'll make an already good car that bit better

I was going to say that a Focus estate was, but that's more a repair mans car.

Do they sell many? I know they exist, but I just can't visualise ever seeing one on the road. Which I suppose says something.

I remember when VW ended up selling both the Golf and the Bora Estates. They were the same car, literally.

Looks smart enough and will pair well with the 2.0 TDI and 1.4 TDI COD.

Main improvement over the previous model is the rear end styling, the old version didn't really look like a VW.

This is the most exciting thread title I think I've ever read on PH smile

Car looks like a slightly smaller Passat. Or the Passat looks like this but a bit bigger. I'm not sure which.

Please feel free to post a picture of another estate car that looks so interesting then........

In "that" blue, I think as estate cars go that new golf looks good!

It actually looks like the designers spent a bit of time shaping the roofline and bootlines better than on previous models.

I think it looks too narrow for it's length.

Here's a nicer looking estate.
