Life insurance for motorsport folk?
Discussion
Things may be different now, but when I took up motorsport twenty years ago, I already had life insurance tied to a mortgage. I informed the Life companies and there was no problem.
Would it help to point out the annual medicals that you need for your licence after you are 45? Or the safety features that a competition car and driver must have?
Or that road drivers kill each other or themselves nearly 2,000 times a year in the UK (out of 20 million drivers? 1 in 10K?)
For club motorsport- non-professional - deaths, see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver_deaths_in_Brit...
That finds about one death per year (excepting karting), from a population of 30,000 licence holders, so 1 in 30K would indicate that its safer to drive on the track!
