Boxster S central locking issue

Hi all - newbie question unfortunately but I have a 2000 3.2s and until today the central locking and the rear remote boot release worked fine.

Now when I push the upper button on the remote, nothing locks and the rear boot won't open either. I just get four red lights illuminating on the top of the dash only.

The key has been used in the ignition so the remote should work, the red diode on the key illuminates and now when I use the key in the door lock, only the drivers door locks and the horn sounds once.

Probably something stupid I am doing but I would welcome some guidance.

If the central locking is totally non-functional, then check the fuse in the alarm control unit under the passenger seat (RHD car). There is a small blade fuse in the side of the casing.
