Ok the dash is out and I am awaiting a bespoke engine bay loom. I will clean all the contacts under the dash, what should I grease them with and should I change the relays? Anything else I need to be doing whilst I can get at everything?
Thanks

I use silicone grease for all electrical contacts, plugs unions etc.
It is fine with rubber and plastic also has a very low conductivity so can be sprayed on most electrical components.
I prefer to use an aerosol for ease of application but I think it comes in tubes as well.
Wise to open up all connetor blocks check for crud clean and grease, for the cost replace any fuses along the way as the contacts can get coroded.
Same with battery terms and eathing points etc clean and grease.
Lastly I like to make a clean job of the wiring using cable ties P clips and loom tape to secure everthing from rubbing and moving about.
All common sence stuff really.

I changed all the instrument bulbs when I took my dash out...easier now than later.

Not really preventative, but dash out is often mentioned when fiddling with the squirter tubes, and maybe easier windscreen changing?
