I think they should include safety of the cars also, for example a few days ago a hundred car pileup in Germany.
If you see the video, there are mostly modern and classy German cars, and nobody was fatally injured, this in no coincidence to me.

Sadly our governments gave up the safety route a few years ago and now our roads are clogged up with g-wizz, toyota priuos and small city cars who will never save any life.

Err, quite the opposite with the safety route actually, say what you want about hybrids but 2 and 3rd placed NCAP results for the Prius and Insight suggest the one thing they aren't bad at is safety! A "small city car" is probably safer than an old massive car to be fair too...

I'm also not sure that the modern preponderance of air bags, universally-fitted ABS and seatbelts, common traction control,pedestrian-friendly bumpers and increasingly stringent Euro NCAP standards (to say nothing of the ever-growing list of driving aids) is evidence that safety has been forgotten...

Quite. I'd also tend to think of PH as the sort of place where 'safety' = 'don't crash it in the first place' rather than 'ruin handling, performance and economy with a few hundred kilos of steel just so you can run over MX5s with impunity'

These aren't csrs you are familiar with, most likely, but this film makes the point:
