I've never driven an Octavia but always liked the back end. Shame the front has always had these dopey horrible headlights that make it looks stupid.

Now looks like theyve cracked it. It's a bit bland and very Audi (a8 anyone?) but i like that.

The estate (assuming it finally looks like this) doesnt look bad either

Cant wait to see the VRs biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

The current facelift shape is pretty nice IMO. Pre-facelift not so much.

They might as well stick a VW badge on it and be done with it, as they are virtually indistinguishable now.

I'm not saying that it is not a good looking car but there is nothing about it that says its a Skoda. All they seem to have done is pushed up into where VW used to be and moved VW up and Audi up and so on until the final yawn has expired.

Remember the VW-Porsche, this should be the VW-Skoda.

I agree! Have you seen the new SEAT Leon? The Octavia looks like a bigger booted version of it!

The current gen Octavia is just a Golf with a bigger boot and less tinsel. You don't get damped grab handles or rubber bits in the door bins or bits of brushed fake metal around the vents but the equipment and oily bits are all the same but for less.

Very handsome.

I actually prefer this over the MK7 Golf.

I thought as people became more accepting of Skoda that VAG would be forced to give them more brand identity or create more of a gap between brands, not remove it entirely.

Good news for people who can look past a badge.

The saloon is quite a handsome looking thing...shame the engineering underneath is exactly the same as every other similarly-sized VW group car. - This just shows what GM could have done with Oldsmobile, Buick, Pontiac etc. if they'd mastered the art of badge kudos.

Skoda are finally blending in their trade mark prominent grill.

Always felt they used to look too much like this:

Thing is, buying a Skoda will save you ££££'s

Soon to be found at a taxi rank near you.

I like it though, I'd have one over a VW but then I drive a Seat so I would say that.

Only from the point of view that Skoda have allowed VW to push their cars upmarket. If it wasn't for Skoda, you'd be able to buy a VW at this price - see what I mean?

It's been like that for a few years considering that shape is quite old now. The front is much worse.

Anyway the new Octavia is quite smart but the rear is terrible. Looks far too long.

Looks smart.

... and one of the only new cars which doesn't resemble a deep sea fish.

Currently awaiting delivery of an identical car, good deals on offer and a lot of car for the cash.

It's not a bad thing I suppose but the first thing I thought, when I saw it, was Passat.
