Good all round mtb tyre

Need some new tyres as mine are crap in wet conditions and nearly ended up in canal on way to work was actually dangling over the edge not good lol anyone get any recommendations

depends on your riding but I like Shwalbe Nobby Nics, theynay be overkill for towpaths though.

I have used Schwalbe Alberts for a couple of years and never had any issues with them, usually run at 35-40 psi. Kenda Nevegals are also a good allrounder IMHO.....

This is what I use. Great for the natural trails I ride. Swap the rear to a Racing Ralph in the summer.

Try a couple of RRs...... More than enough for tow paths

I'm a big fan of the rocket ron's use them in 26x1.85, 29x2.1 and 700cx33 super handling, lightweight, and reliable predictable grip.

Maxxis High Roller single ply 2.35 60A are my favorite all rounder, but are draggy on the road.

A good skinny and cheap alternative is the Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1; just shy of £15 an end, they roll fast and grip well in anything but muddy conditions.

Not tried Nobby Nics yet; I did buy a pair once but I returned them as the compound was very hard. They offer them in a few compounds so be wary as the ones I received would have been ditch finders...

depends what you want really, for general towpaths and unsealed surfaces, you cant go wrong with Maxxis Larsen TTs or Kenda Small Block Eights

If you want something more suited to off road trails and things then have a look at the schwable racing ralph or nobby nics or maybe a Maxxis ignitor at the front and a Crossmark on the rear?...

I've run High Rollers for years, but they're actually pretty awful in mud. Running Conti Rubber Queens now though, been brilliant all winter. Cheap too.

I second Nobby Nics ( 2.1" double defense for me) after trying loads of rubber. They do everything well.

MadDad mentioned Kenda Nevegals. That's what came with my bike, and I need some new ones (too much tarmac has killed them). Any more 'votes' for the Kendas, or would I be better off with a better known brand (Conti/Schwalbe/etc).

Mrs P has Kenda Kwick Rollers on her hybrid, they seem fine and Kenda are a very popular brand in the States.

Plenty of grip and roll well enough on the flat stuff. The have hard rubber middle, and softer rubber on the flanks, to give you better grip when turning.

Alright Rust. I can vouch for the Nobby Nics used them for 18 months and they've been great. Still got one on the rear with a rubber queen on the front.
The mrs has maxxis advantage on hers and she's pleased with them, quicker rolling than either of the tyres I use.
If you want something quicker than a NN have a look at the racing ralphs. Ive also heard a alot of good things about the newer Bonty XR4.

I like a High Roller up front and an Ardent out back on my Zesty. Not so good in the mud, but they're tubeless and I can't be bothered to change. Have been pretty impressed with Nobby Nic's on my singlespeed mind you

Depends which Mountain King. I had the mk1 versions and they were gash! Rode them about 3 times before chucking them in the cellar with my other junk
