Had an advisory in my MOT that my near side front wheel is buckled. Booking the car into Porsche Reading next week to be checked, but given that its probably going to need replacing anyone have any idea what it's likely to cost me? Damn thing will need painting black too :s

Tester said they are seeing a lot of these now due to our crap roads

Thanks, think I'm tied into getting it through Porsche tho as car has a Porsche Approved warranty on it I want to maintain, at least until it expires next year

only if it isn't painted.... painted ones are near double the cost of silver ones.

If you don't take it to Porsche they won't know.

Just phone a different OPC to your usual one and get a price, then order one from the above (if cheaper) and it might be with you before the end of the week.

I can't see how it makes a difference to your warranty - like tyres, you don't have to buy from Porsche.

Local wheel refurber can paint it.

Asked a local OPC on on a price, each they work out around £800 front £1000 rear.

I'm guessing just in plain silver, but they did also mention about a price for a set and tyres for a better deal price?!

Speak to someone like Elite Wheels as they may be able to repair it.

You could buy an extra two years warranty and assistance for that!

When the weather improves the three of us should go for a drive and a bite of lunch.

Or John (Manager) or Ben. TIPEC discount would be 10% so £160 a no brainer when membership is £50 for 2 years.
Personally I'd get the wheel to Lepsons & let them sort it, for around £100 or so!

just a quick update.... happened to be at my folks in Bournemouth so called in to Porsche there to double check the part number prior to ordering the wheel on-line. They've now quoted me £880+vat so who knows what Reading were on about.

Will get it done asap, as might be selling shortly, really don't want to but think it's the best way to fund a career break I'm considering, but looking at ways to keep it....
