Bike rack for a convertible?

Hi, as the title really! I've got an 1998 E36 BMW covertible, anybody got any ideas if there are any racks that'll fit this car? I haven't got a tow bar and don't really want to fit one either!
I only need to carry 1 bike, maybe 2 once in a blue moon.

Saris Bones. I'm sure I've seen them mentioned in other threads about racks for MX5 and S2000 before.

I have just got a Saris Bones 2 (2 bike rack) for my 1999 E36 328 Convertible. It fits superbly and is beautifully finished as well as being light and folding neatly to fit in the boot. It is, in my opinion, the best choice for a Convertible. If I had a tin-top car then it would be Roofbars and Thule 591s every time, but not much beats this Rack for a Vert (and I have tried lots!)..

..got mine in Evans last week for £112.50 in the sale, they even threw in some Saris Bike Protection foam too.

NB the cheaper 1 bike rack doesn't fit the E36 Vert, I know this because I bought it first, only the 2 or 3er will fit.

I've got a Saris Bones, too. Highly recommended, but it can sometimes be a bit of a struggle to get full sus mtb frames on as it really prefers traditional diamond shaped frames with a nice open front triangle and long top tubes.

Also another tip if you're concerned about paintwork is to use a few pieces of helitape of similar where the feet contact the boot/rear bumper. It would definitely mark the car after extended use.

I also zip tie a number plate to mine as with one or more bikes on the numberplate is obscured. I got my set of plates from ebay for a tenner.

I've been up to 90 leptons with mine with no issues and I think they look great. Here's a pic:

I have a brand new Sarris Bones I am looking to sell if you want to make me an offer, as new. Just bought a Thule tow hitch mount to replace it.

As already mentioned, try helicopter tape. I got some off ebay - seller was Paragon Tapes I think. It's similar to the stone chip protection film and although it can need a bit of a knack to fit will protect yer paint well. I suppose you could call it "sticky backed plastic"...
