Folks, happy saturday, being as I'm skint, saving for chassis job in May, need to do a cheap fix on the Cerbera, yeeehaaa.

The outside temp indicator (snowflake) does absolutely nothing, be it -5 or +10 degrees outside, i hear wonderful stories of it being sometimes red then green, stuff dreams are made of.

I'm guessing there's a sensor (thermistor) somewhere thats had its day. If anyone knows where it might be on a 99 speed6, and if the part is available in a maplins or RS catalogue,I'd love to know.

I'm quite handy with the electrical bits so dont need a TVR replug in part, unless, its somekind of weird Blackpool bespoke specialist and therefore expensive part, which means those twinkly snowflake illuminations will have to wait another year.
cheers all

Its driven by a thermistor mounted on a plug that is inside the bottom front opening where it lies in all the water and grunge that collects there until it dies. The thermistor its self is probably about 4p from from RS Components or Farnell, however unfortunately I can't tell you the spec. I intended to measure it when I got a replacement from TVR Power but never got round to it.

If you phone them and ask nicely they will stick just the thermistor without the plug in the post to you - at least they did for me.

you should find it between the horns in the nose, probably taped up in the loom that runs there, it is a thermistor, not sure on the value, here they are from racetech but at nearly £5 for one piss take.

I'm not convinced the typical Cerb owner is too concerned about sub zero temps when they're in their daily driver and the Cerb is in the garage. My preference would be to re-task it to reference the coolant level sensor. Obviously I've not done anything other than disconnect the warning led, but it's on the list.

Its a useful reminder that your right foot should be applied lightly to the throttle when it comes on, especially if you use the car all year round!

Great pictures, and only 4p, probably, thanks for the help gents, will now endeavour to carry out the cheapest repair known to man, gonna try the get one free route first, but i'm not in a rush anymore as the weather is definately more springlike, which means far less spinning around.

Cheers
Karl
