Are you asking VOSA (IVA) issues or DVLA registration issues?

I expect the Factory will get an Ultima through first time. Both they and the local testers know the car well.

For a home builder, and when we put a kitcar in for test, plan to pass second time unless the fail was noise or emissions related. Subsequent tests are only the fail items so there is little point doing excessive work on something you 'think' the inspector will not like just take the test then resolve the failed items. Also take time to discuss each point with the tester and find out what he considers an acceptable solution. My experience is that they genuinely want you to get a pass even if you both know a particular requirement is a bit anal.

Radii on custom dashboard work is a stumbling block for some, I know of a chap who had the interior "proffessionally " trimmed only to find that the whole dash area had to be re-designed because of IVA regs.
Also worth bearing in mind that there're was no recourse with the trimmer as he was working to customer spec and IVA wasn't his remit (may not have even realised it was an issue).
