About to return to a project bike ive had sat round for a while and i want to weigh up the cost of building it as it is, against a full strip and rebuild, which would possibly include blasting and painting the frame (dependent on price).

What's an average price to pay for this kind of thing? It's a steel frame and forks from a cb750.

Having looked at getting a bicycle frame sandblasted, the going rate appears to be anything from £25 to 50 depending on who you choose and how careful a job you want

Cheapest one ive found so far to blast then pc a frame and swingarm was 100 quid, but was oop north. If i can get a decent job for that down here i think it's a goer.

I've just had my roll cage done for a 7 style kit. When I asked how much it would cost "about the same as a frame £80" when I collected it was charged £70.

Good to know, cheers. What was the finish like?

To be fair, the prices I was mentioning were purely for the blasting, as I was intending to prep and paint the frame myself

The finish appears to be very good, it had been on the car several years, previously a painted finish with plenty of stone chips, it's now as smooth as a baby's rear.

The first test was refitting, nothing cracked or flaked off when tightening M10 bolts up very tight, this was one fear I had over a paint finish. Time will tell how it holds up to stone chips.

Yeah, that's a concern of mine, durability during rebuild.

I've just had every metal component bar forks blasted and powder coated on my 74 CB350 for £100.

Frame, swing arm, yokes, chain guard, tool box, air box covers etc etc. about 12 pieces in total I believe.

I recently went through great pain to sand down an intake manifold from sandcast finish to mirror reflectivity, I assume sandblasting could have gotten me some degree of the way there? Anyone with experience of that? I'd never had anything blasted before and thought it would have been £100+.
