As part of the wiper overhaul I've found one of the wiper wheel boxes is not very free turning. SVC do replacements but list two sizes, 32 & 40 tooth. As it's not out yet does anyone know which one it is?

Also, other than the two obvious bolts holding the long black panel in place in front of the wheel boxes, are there any other hidden fixings I need to be aware of so I don't go breaking things? There are three large blanking grommets in the panel, do they conceal more fixings or are they there to access other things and best left alone?

There are 3 x 10mm screws that hold the 'black cover' to the bulkhead (behind the grommets), the cover has slots where the screws pass through, so no need to completely remove.
I'll post a pic when I get home if that will help.

The drivers side bolts is a pig to get to on my car.

tbh you may get away with removing all the tubes and wheel boxes and cleaning the old grease out and re-greasing. Mine was a lot better after just doing this.

It's important to ensure you get all the tubes lined up nicely when refitting. You can also adjust the pre-load on the wheel box spindles with the upper seal/washer and also the clamp of the covers with the nuts.

A lot to adjust and they all effect the smooth operation. Don't forget a new brush set and park switch while you're in there. smile

Cheers for the extra info, I'm definitely doing everything that can go wrong while it's all apart. I'm not sure about the brush set, what do people think? Might just get away with it!
