I received a xz-1 two weeks ago, only taken about 300 shots and it developed a cluster of about three hot pixels next to each other. I'm happy with the xz-1 an have been told that pixel mapping will fx this and it's very common, however should it be present in such a new camera?

I'm thinking of changing it for the newer xz-10 but is it as good? ok it's a little smaller but also £125.00 more, so options I have, pixel map and hope it fixes it and don't get too many more, return and replace with another xz-1 or replace with xz-10...... Any ideas which way to go.

Just run the pixel mapping software from the menu in the camera. If it fixes the problem then great! If not, return it.

They even recommend it's done once a year as preventetive maintenance.
