Russian Cold War Sub

I've been on the sister ship docked alongside the Queen Mary in Long Beach, which is in somewhat better condition than the one above, got some pics somewhere if anyone is interested.
I can't see the UK one lasting long, got to be worth a few quid in scrap ? Unless some rich Russian buys it, or would they rather forget the cold war ?

I tried to go on board and have a look round the sub next to the QM when I was there but it was all closed off!

Went on that when it was in Folkestone. Stank of diesel and its tiny. Interesting tho but nowhere near as impressive as the redoubtable in Cherbourg!

I'm surprised the Submarine Museum down in Gosport isn't all over this. It would make an epic attraction

There used to be a German U-boat opened up to the public in Birkenhead docks, along with a few other vessels.

U-534. They cut it in to bits, you can't actually enter it, just look through a window.
They said it'd be too expensive to move as one piece.

Bit of a waste imho.

Even if Gosport was interested, do they have the money & space to take the Foxtrot sub ?
They'd have to dry dock it or bring it on to land due to the leaks etc.

There's a french navy sub open as a museum piece in St Nazaire too, but it's had big access hatches cut in front and rear for normal stairs to be installed. Much smaller than those soviet ones.

Bit of a lurker here, but funnily enough I was on another forum recently where somone had posted some pictures of the subs in the Medway.
