Ermmm...

A fake dSLR? This is news to me. I mean, I've heard of conterfiet Gucci. But conterfeit Nikon???

Well, in the event there are fakes, my guess is that it's pretty hard to fake a dSLR. Make sure you know what a "real" one looks like, stick a card in it and mount a Nikon/Canon lens on it, and shoot. If you see the picture on the LCD, then it's gotta be "genuine".

I'd be more concerned about stolen, refurbished, broken, used or black/grey-market goods if I were you.

A new one on me! I'd say they are far too hard to fake - but how about going to your local Dixons or Jessops and memorising what a real one looks like?

I'm sure there are plenty of fakes out there, after all I bet it would be quite simple to make a body that looked like an expsnsive one and shove very cheap electronics in it.

They manage it with watches! My Fake tag keeps better time than my real one!
