Hello Gents
well just a quick question on these. How do you know if you are due one? ive spent 2 hours on the phone with HRMC to get told '' we dont know please phone back in a few days'' so i have turned to the experts on PH for an anwser.
Last year i took voluntary medical dishcharge for HM Forces whilst awaiting my discharge i took a job what had been offerd to me. There for taking in 2 wages but paid tax on both wages. its about 2k what in tax over 4 months what i paid. A friend who is a accountant said i was due one come the start of the year. this is where im confused does he mean end of finace year or end of year IE Jan?.
Im not botherd if i am or not as the OH will have it spent before i see any of it but it will be nice to know its not my slush fund she spending
Thanks in adavnce

Various situations can cause potential over- or under-taxation. Having two jobs during a tax year can result in you being overtaxed depending on how your tax code has been allocated. A tax accountant can normally work out quite quickly whether you've overpaid tax. You will be due one after the end of the financial year (5th April 2013) because HMRC look at your earning over the full year and how much tax has been deductedwell just a quick question on these. How do you know if you are due one?
Have a look at the link below

Countdown: Thanks for the links ill have a play with it tonight. One of the links it says i have to claim back by going throught the HMRC. I thought it was automaticly.
Eric: Ill have a look for them as im in the middle of packing up for an impending house move. Is it just the P45 from the military and my LAst P60 from them.As ive not recived anything except a tax code change notifcation from the HRMC.
Thanks

The P60's and P45's are issued by your previous employers NOT HMRC!Thanks
