I have an E90 and today I decided to clean up the brakes. While I was at it I also took a look at the wear sensors. They seem to be separate from the pads and are held in a groove in the pads. I gave them a pull but they did not come out nor did a connector come off a sensor. I didn't go any further because there is plenty left on the pads. So are the wear sensors separate from the pads as I think or do they come attached to the new pads? If they are separate, how do they come off? ...and finally, if the sensors ever have to be replaced does it include the entire length of the connecting wire to the connector on the body in the wheel-arch?

No reply to this yet, so I'll post a copy on the BMW thread. I hope the mods don't mind the double post.
