Chaps

I am wondering if anyone happens to know the weight of a Chim 400 wheel? Reason being is Im considering a change of 'wheelage' and want something lighter. I am aware that the things are blooming heavy so what i purchase should be lighter anyway, but wouldnt mind knowing the exact weight.

Thanks in advance

Adam

Looking at your profile they could be spiders
I think its easier just to buy a set of sp12 and be done with it smile.

If this is the case then Misteradz has 5 stud hubs - In which case I'd be looking for a sexy set of RL7's from a Cerb. Best looking wheels on a Chim/Griff lick

In that case I can thoroughly recommend SP12's, perfect fit, good choice of tyres and look great.

Sorry, can't help you with wheel weights

5 spoke = Imola
7 spoke = Estoril

(Easy to remember, number of spokes = number of letters in name)

+1 for the SP12's, ours are Graphite Grey and look great. Not sure what the weights are but I believe they are lighter than Imolas.

It is and they are 17" (215/40/17) front and 18" (245/35/18) rear.
I'll be removing the rears at weekend to get new tyres fitted so if I get the chance to weigh them (and my standard 16" rear Estoril's) I'll post up the results.

Love the SP12`s but were above my budget ..I have the Team Dynamics pro race 1.2 wich are alot cheaper ,very light but they do have letters on the rim ,other tan that they are the same wheel.

Purchased mine has a wheel and tyre package from Demon Tweaks

I have weighed the SP12s against Imolas and they are a bit lighter - annoyingly, I cannot find the note I made but it's about a pound or so per bare wheel from memory. They do work very well and look great as said. Only downside on mine was the powdercoat did not hold up brilliantly. Looking at a refurb this year sometime

Mine drives much better with lighter Compomotive wheels. I never compared weights, but it does make a difference.

Swanny,

You are a true gent and top notch Piston Head. Thank you for taking the time to note the weights down! Makes for some interesting reading, and assists me making my decision on what wheels to look for.

Regards

Adam
