Can anyone recommend a good care home for the elderly, for someone with Alzheimer's. Looking South Sheffield, Halfway, Eckington, Mosborough areas. Cheers

I can't help you locate one but I work in healthcare so have some advice for you. Try not to go for the big organisations such as BUPA. I have my reasons. Try and go for a family ran home. And remember, the newer/more cleaner homes don't always give the best care.

Thanks for the replies. Have a few to look at.

My mums already in a home in Lincolnshire but we want to bring her back over here. Her current home is part of the four seasons group which to be honest, we have been happy with. I guess its down to the individual home itself, staff etc...

Mick - I know a good one in Rotherham (Moorgate area opposite hospital) It's called Ackroyd Clinic. My wifes mum was in there until she died at 91. They have proper nurses and really looked after her well.
Very respectful staff, nice room in pleasant surroundings, not cheap though, but I don't think any of them are.
